The Officers and members of Carrick with Ashgrove brass band were saddened to hear of the sudden death of their esteemed colleague Sam Johnston and wish to extend their sympathy to the family circle.

The Band members have now decided on the new name for the band. They will now be known as Carrick With Ashgrove Brass (C.W.A. Brass). Hopefully the band can now move forward and work on the up coming Contest and the series of winter concerts they have lined up.

The Summer is drawing to a close which means the end of the seasonal park concerts for another year. The band however
will be performing at some autumn / winter concerts as well as preparing for the NIBA contest, this year being held in Armagh. As always the band have a busy schedule and are already taking bookings for next years events. This summer has been enjoyed by all and we look forward to more of the same next year!

NIBA Championship of Ireland Contest
The 92nd Championship of Ireland Contest for Brass will be held in the Market Place Theatre, Armagh on Saturday 31st October 2009. (Adjudicator Peter Bassano).
